Wall Street Exec Considers a U.S. Senate Run for Stabenow’s Seat in Michigan

A Wall Street executive is considering a run for United States Senate in Michigan for retiring Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s seat in 2024 as Republicans have yet to court a serious contender for the vacancy, according to Politico.

Vice Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange and Michigan native John Tuttle served under former President George W. Bush’s Political Affairs Office and has been working on Wall Street since 2007, according to Politico. The Wall Street executive could potentially face Democratic opposition from Rep. Elissa Slotkin, and has already been corresponding with Republicans in Michigan and Washington, D.C.

Connecticut Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal’s Radical Abortion Bill Rejected by U.S. Senate

Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal’s (D) radical abortion legislation that would have overridden state pro-life laws was defeated in the U.S. Senate Monday evening.

The Senate voted, 46-48, to reject a bill Democrats called the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would have embedded abortion on demand, at any time during pregnancy, into federal law, making invalid most individual state pro-life laws.

Republicans Will Put PPP Funding Back on the Floor for a Vote Despite Democrats’ Efforts to Block It, Sen. Blackburn Says

U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told CNBC’s SquawkBox on Wednesday that Republicans will try again to pass their bill that would provide PPP and vaccine funding despite Democrats’ attempts to block the efforts.

CNBC asked Blackburn if she would vote for a deal if the White House and the Treasury Department reached an agreement with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-12).
