National Students for Justice in Palestine Conference at UMN Receives Major Backlash

The David Horowitz Freedom Center once again named the University of Minnesota on its list of “Top Ten Colleges that Promote Jew Hatred and Incite Terrorism” in its recent report. Following the release of this report, newspapers with this information were distributed around the University of Minnesota campus.

The newspaper distributed directly coincided with the National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) conference that took place at the University of Minnesota November 1-3, 2019. “The Jew hatred promoted by Hamas through its front group Students for Justice in Palestine has now trickled down to infect less typically activist campuses in the heartland—including the University of Minnesota” the David Horowitz Freedom Center report states.

Posters were also taped up around campus that highlights Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) role in promoting the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

“American universities like the University of Minnesota allow these terrorist allies to use their authority and prestige to lend this genocidal offensive an aura of respectability,” David Horowtiz said, adding that “Our campaign intends to expose SJP and other supporters of BDS as fronts for Hamas and to press universities to cease their funding and support of these organizations.”

Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at the University of Minnesota got together on November 2nd to protest NSJP’s conference. Upon traveling to the location of the conference, Coffman Memorial Union, SSI discovered NSJP had placed paper over all the windows to possibly conceal what was taking place at the conference.
