The Michigan Republican Party announced Wednesday that Vice President Mike Pence will be returning to the state later this month.
Pence will arrive in Michigan on February 25 for a bus tour that will include a stop at the Michigan Farm Bureau’s legislative seminar followed by a “Keep America Great” rally in Troy. Pence was last in Michigan for President Donald Trump’s “Merry Christmas Rally” on December 18.
During the visit, Pence promised a crowd of Michiganders that he and the president would visit the state “again and again and again.”
Vice President Pence conducted a campaign bus tour through Michigan in November, which included stops in Portage, Holland, and Grand Rapids.
“Under the leadership of President Trump and Vice President Pence, Michiganders keep notching countless victories as a result of an America First agenda,” Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Laura Cox said in a Wednesday statement.
“From fully funding the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to passing the historic USMCA – which is rapidly bringing manufacturing jobs back to our state – the Trump-Pence administration is working overtime for Michigan,” she added. “I look forward to welcoming Vice President Pence back to Michigan, and laying the groundwork to four more years of winning.”

Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes responded to the news of Pence’s visit by bashing the president’s “disastrous budget.”
“Now he’s sending Mike Pence to clean up the mess and cover for this administration’s broken promises. Let me be clear: Michigan voters aren’t buying it. They know Donald Trump has broken promise after promise as he has fought to gut protections for people with preexisting conditions and strip healthcare from working families, slash Social Security and other earned benefits, and leave farmers out to dry as they are forced to pay for his erratic trade war,” Barnes continued.
“We’re going to continue to hold this administration accountable for its attacks on Michiganders and turn every corner of this state blue in November,” she claimed.
A poll released in late October showed that President Trump had a higher approval rating among Michigan voters than the state’s own Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat whose approval rating tanked between June and October.
