Michigan Counties Receive High Speed Internet Grants

Michigan plans to hand out more than $200 million in federal taxpayer funds for grants to provide high-speed internet access to underserved areas. 

The Michigan High Speed Internet Office announced the first round of the Realizing Opportunity with Broadband Infrastructure Networks grants, awarding $203 million to more than 70,000 Michigan homes and businesses to connect them with faster internet.

Over $400 Million in Taxpayer Funds Have Been Sent to Gaza Since Hamas Takeover

Ever since the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas first took over the territory of the Gaza Strip in 2007, the United States has sent more than $400 million in taxpayer dollars to the region.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, documents from the State Department’s U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the $400 million spent over the last 14 years since 2009 has allegedly gone towards development projects. Despite USAID’s insistence that the money could only be spent on humanitarian purposes, many critics have warned that the funds could be used by Hamas to fund its acts of terrorism against Israel and the West.

Michigan Democratic lawmakers authorized taxpayer funding for a Chinese-backed project Thursday, prompting criticism from state residents at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing.

Lawmakers approved $175 million in public funding for Gotion to construct an electric vehicle battery factory in Big Rapids, Michigan. However, the public expressed worries due to China-based parent company Gotion High-Tech having corporate bylaws establishing a Communist Party of China (CCP) Committee within the company; every committee Republican and three Democrats voted against it, but the measure passed with a 10-9 vote.

New York Attorney General Hosts Drag Queen Story Hour with Drag Group Receiving City Contracts

The attorney general of New York State hosted a drag queen story hour event for young children in New York City to protest a perceived “rise in anti-LGBTQ+ protests, rhetoric, and policies.”

In a press statement following the event Sunday, James’ office said “nearly 200 guests enjoyed four back-to-back Story Hours hosted by the Drag Kings, Queens, and Royalty of Drag Story Hour NYC at The Center, which has been a home and resource hub for the LGBTQ+ community and allies since its founding in 1983.”
