U.S. Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn held nothing back in a new column this week, describing Colin Kaepernick as “a spoiled brat football player” and his left-wing supporters as “self-absorbed” and lacking toughness.
Blackburn made these comments in a new column on Breitbart this week.
Kaepernick reportedly persuaded Nike to drop a planned Betsy Ross Flag sneaker.
“Well, who would ever have thought that a spoiled brat football player would have a problem with an American flag that was first made by one of our founding mothers in 1776?” Blackburn wrote.
“Sounds like someone needs a little flag education on what that symbol of freedom actually stands for to millions of people, not only in America, but also around the globe.”
Blackburn said “it is time for the self-absorbed to understand a little bit about who continues to defend that freedom and protect their free speech so that they can say such inane things and continue to make millions of dollars.”
Blackburn also said “those who complain about an American flag being on a pair of shoes could not fight like a soldier if they had to.” She went on to say “those who are complaining about this don’t have the mental toughness of someone who wears a military or police uniform.”
“To the self-absorbed, learn to show a little tolerance and a little respect,” Blackburn wrote.
“Grow up. You are not the center of the universe.”
Blackburn, however, said she will defend Kaepernick’s right to say the things he says.
Blackburn has had a lot to say in recent weeks about various topics of controversy.
As The Tennessee Star reported last month, Blackburn reportedly warned in a speech this week about privacy concerns as technology companies gather consumer data and profit from it.
This, according to Broadbandbreakfast.com, which reported Blackburn’s remarks during a speech to the free market group Free State Foundation in Washington, D.C.
As reported, Blackburn also said conservative college students should feel encouraged as they contend with hostile leftist professors and leftist classmates on campus.
Blackburn said universities are stifling conservative speech.

SEN. Blackburn,
Thank you for your comment on Kaepernick. He obviously had zero respect for our flag, what it represents, as well as our veterans and military. He should by now fully realize that his words and actions are the reasons no professional team is interested in acquiring him.
I and many others truly appreciate the work you do for us.
It would be great if we could make intentional burning/desecration of our flag a felony, have ANTIFA designated a terrorist
Organization and stop any and all aid to anyone in America illegally. They are taking away from our veterans, elderly and others who are in desperate need.
Again, thank you.

Well said Senator Blackburn! Kaepernick and his ilk do not have “the right stuff “ to serve in any capacity alongside our military or the thousands of police officers who protect us every day. Nor does the U.S. women’s soccer team, for that matter. They have proven to this American that they are not worthy of our support!
