Live from Virginia Tuesday morning on The John Fredericks Show – weekdays on WNTW AM 820/ FM 92.7 – Richmond, WJFN FM 100.5 – Central Virginia; WMPH AM 1010 / FM 100.1 / FM 96.9 (7-9 p.m.) Hampton Roads; WBRG AM 1050 / FM 105.1 – Lynchburg/Roanoke; and weekdays 6-10 a.m. and 24/7 stream – host Fredericks welcomed President Donald J. Trump to the show to discuss whether or not he’ll endorse Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania, his commitment to David Perdue, and the disgrace of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on election integrity.
Fredericks: President number 45, and soon-to-be number 47, Donald J. Trump, live from Mara-a-Lago. President Trump, thank you for being with us today. Thank you for your time, sir.
Trump: Well, thank you, John. I just heard you speaking about the three senators there. It’s absolutely terrible. Unbelievable.
Fredericks: Pathetic. It’s absolutely pathetic. It’s pathetic what’s going on? Mitt Romney and Susan Collins and now Murkowski, who I think is going to lose that primary.
Trump: We hope so.
Fredericks: With friends like these, who needs enemies. I want to get to Pennsylvania. As you know, we talked about this earlier. My wife and I just bought a major radio station in Philadelphia, WJLP AM – 740, 103.3 FM So I want to start in Pennsylvani,a where you’ve got a pivotal Senate race. And I’ve had Dr. Oz on my show a couple of times. You’ve known him a long time. Are you comfortable with Dr. Oz? Do you think he’s an America First or MAGA candidate?
Trump: Sure. He’s a good man, too. Well, let me ask you an opinion. One of the recent polls, most recent polls. Out of curiosity, now that you’re a big radioman, even in Philadelphia, you’re covering – pretty soon you’ll have the whole nation and then the world. (Chuckles)
Fredericks: Well, until you leave office in ’28, that’s the plan. Yes. Correct.
Trump: Okay. That sounds good. We got a lot of turning around to do. This country has never been in shape like this. What is your feeling, John? How do you like the race, the way it’s going?
Fredericks: He’s tied right now. He’s tied with McCormick, who is a hedge fund manager. Basically came out of the banking industry, part of the 2008 meltdown. So I have no interest in that. Look, I’ve had him on my show several times. I like him. I’m going to be honest with you. If I was in Pennsylvania, he’d get my vote. I like Oz.
Trump: Really?
Fredericks: I think he’s honest. Look, people change, right? He did this. He did that. He gave money to this. When he gave money to that one, people change.
Trump: Right. Well, he’s a good person. I can tell you. I was at his show and he said I was in good shape. I was in a show as a candidate in 2016, and I did it for fun. And he treated me very well. He said if I lost a couple of pounds, that would be just okay. Just okay.
But other than that, he said “this guy is healthy.” So, you know, I thought he treated me very nicely. We did it and it was a nice show and he’s a high-quality guy. And I’ll be making a decision.
I’ll be making a decision on that. One of the thoughts you were asking me about, I understand, is whether or not I was going to make a decision. In other words, endorse somebody, and I most likely will.
We have a lot of really interesting races in Missouri and Ohio. You have the Pennsylvania race. In Arizona, you have a very interesting race. We have some interesting races.
Fredericks: Well, I like Dr. Oz, and I think if you were to endorse him, I think you’ll put him over the top and I think he’ll win. And look, we need that seat. And when you win in 2025, I think he’s going to be a guy that’s going to be there for you.
Trump: I understand. No, I understand. I do like the man. I do like the man. So we’ll see what happens. But I’ll be making it at some point, maybe fairly soon, I guess votes are starting to go out. The fake mail-in ballot votes, right?
You know what happens? They dump that stuff. It’s such a disgrace. How Republicans allow mail-in ballots to continue is just beyond belief. How they allow Mitch McConnell, that group of absolute losers, how they allow this to continue is unbelievable.
They stole an election, rigged it, and stole it. That was one of the many ways, by the way. If you look between the mules – and Dave Bossie has done a big movie, you know, about that. And I guess it’s premiering tonight, but about how crooked the presidential election was.
And in so many different ways. But one of the big ways they do it is with mail-in ballots. They used COVID partially to rig an election. And it’s a disgrace that they can get away and continue to do it. So I guess the mail-in ballots are starting to be mailed in, as they say.
Fredericks: Right. Well, the mail-in ballots are the cornerstone of the fraud. Without the mail-in ballots, a lot of the other things they do can’t get done. Which brings us to Georgia, where you’ve endorsed a slate of candidates.
We’re calling it the Trump GOP Reform State, if you will. David Perdue is at the top of it. Recent polling shows he’s behind anywhere from 7 to 9. That’s been pretty consistent. Kemp hovering at 50 percent.
I’m going to do a two-week plus tour with them, just like we did with your help for Glenn Youngkin. And by the way, you’re the reason Glenn Youngkin is the governor of Virginia. Because had you not gotten involved in it, Terry McAuliffe wins hands down.
Trump: No chance. And by the way, he wrote me a beautiful letter. Thank you. I will tell you that right up front. He was very nice, but Youngkin would not have won the race, not even close. And I did a teleconference call to the state.
We had a tremendous number of people. Hundreds of thousands of people, from what I understand, hundreds of thousands. And every one of those people, they went out and they voted. And that was the following day.
Now, he would have lost. And MAGA really was excited about that when I did that. And they acknowledged that. They acknowledged that. You know the press tried to make it, oh, this is a new way of campaigning without Trump.
I mean, they asked me to do a teleconference call the night before the election and I did, and we did a lot of endorsements, a lot of endorsing of him and we worked on that and he was gracious. The media wasn’t gracious because the media is corrupt.
So they tried to say, well, Trump didn’t help him and he won. That’s not true. Without the help, he wouldn’t have won and nor would he have gotten the nomination.
Fredericks: By the way, how do we get David Perdue over the finish line?
Trump: So it’s a very interesting situation. The governor turned out to be terrible, absolutely terrible, and especially on the election fraud. For whatever reason, he seems to be almost in the pocket of the Democrats or Stacey Abrams in particular. It’s incredible.
That’s Kemp. And he turned out to be a disaster. And even what they passed. They passed a certain election reform, but it doesn’t have signature verification, a lot of other things.
The Senate sent him down a bill that was tougher than Texas, which is a tough bill, and he made it softer by taking things out. He won’t sign it unless you get rid of signature verification and lots of other things. And then he goes out and says, oh, we got this bill.
Well, it was done by the Senate, but it is an amazing thing because I got him elected. I endorsed him the night before the primary or shortly before the primary. I think the night before and he was in last place.
He was doing terribly and he jumped and he won easily. I mean, after I endorsed him, he won easily and he was not going to win. And then I did two rallies for them and we had 52,000 people in each rally. Fifty-two thousand.
Two airports, because they were the only thing that could have held the rally. Big airport. And we had 52,000 people each. I said you’re going to win. Oh, sir, I don’t think so. Anyway, he won.
And when I asked him about election integrity, and it wasn’t even me, it was the Senate. They wanted to have a special session and they signed a consent decree, which he did, with his Secretary of State.
They have a consent decree that is absolutely horrible for Republicans that they agreed to. This consent degree makes it very hard for a Republican to win. …
