Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden put his foot in his mouth again on Thursday when he said that “10 to 15 percent” of Americans are “just not very good people.”
The former vice president made these comments while holding a town hall on Thursday night with black supporters, according to Fox News.
“The words a president says matter, so when a president stands up and divides people all the time, you’re gonna the worst of us to come out,” Biden said.
“Do we really think this is as good as we can be as a nation? I don’t think the vast majority of people think that,” Biden added. “There are probably anywhere from 10 to 15 percent of the people out there who are just not very good people, but that’s not who we are. The vast majority of the people are decent. We have to appeal to that and we have to unite people — bring them together..”

These comments come after Biden made controversial comments two weeks ago about black people who don’t vote for Democrats.
“If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” Biden told Charlamagne, the black host of the New York City-based Breakfast Club radio show.
Somewhat taken aback, Charlamagne shot back, “it don’t have nothin’ to do with Trump. It has something to do with I want something for my community.”
“Look at my record man!” Biden interjected. “I extended the Voting [Rights Act] 25 years! I have a record that is second to none! The NAACP’s endorsed me every time I’ve run. I mean—come on! Take a look at the record!”
After making these comments, the former Deleware Senator issued an apology.
“I should not have been so cavalier. I’ve never, never, ever taken the African-American community for granted,” Biden told the U.S. Black Chambers Inc., according to USA Today.
