Congressman Jordan Asked Key Questions During Impeachment ‘Show’

The impeachment inquiry began in Washington Wednesday. Recent appointee to the committee, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH-04), asked key questions during the hearing which Fox News referred to as “the show.”

Jordan set the stage before the hearing started,

Whether in Schiff’s bunker or in open hearings, 4 facts will never change:

-The call transcript shows no linkage
@POTUS and Zelensky both say no pressure
-Ukraine didn’t know aid was held up at the time of the call
-Ukraine never took any action to get aid released”

The fifth-term congressman tweeted about Ukraine’s history of corruption and shared the Republican counsel’s questioning of Ambassador Taylor, “Mr. Kent affirmed Ukraine has a long-standing history of corruption. And President Trump was deeply skeptical of this corruption. The President has a duty to Americans to make sure their taxpayer dollars are being spent responsibly.”

Jordan later questioned Ambassador Taylor’s claim to have a “clear understanding” of a “linkage” between money promised to Ukraine for security assistance and Ukraine’s commitment, according to Taylor, to investigate the Bidens.

The Ambassador admitted to meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy three times between President Trump’s phone call to Zelenskyy July 25th and the security assistance dollars being released to the Ukrainians September 11th.

Taylor conceded Jordan’s explanation of the scenario was accurate, there was never discussion of a “linkage” between money and a promise to investigate. Jordan jumped on the admission.

“Three meetings, face-t0-face with President Zelensky, no linkage, yet in your deposition you said this, and you said it again the first hour to the majority, ‘My clear understanding was security assistance money would not come until President Zelensky committed to pursue the investigation. My clear understanding was they weren’t going to get the money until President Zelensky committed to pursue the investigations’.” (emphasis his)

“Now with all due respect Ambassador, your ‘clear understanding’ was obviously wrong.”

Jordan continue in his questioning to point out that the Ukrainian President never publicly committed to investigate Burisma or the Bidens before the security money was released.

Further questions asked by Jordan included, “Ambassador, you weren’t on the call, were you? You didn’t listen in on President Trump’s call and President Zelensky’s call?”

Taylor responded, “I did not.”

“You never talked with Chief of Staff Mulvaney?”

“I never did.”

“You never met the President?”

“That’s correct.”

“And you’re their star witness,” Jordan said.

Republicans on the Oversight Committee, a committee on which Jordan is the ranking member, shared evidence that the Democrats had been planning impeachment from the very beginning of Trump’s presidency, “@RepAdamSchiff’s sham #impeachment hearings begin today. But make no mistake, Democrats have been out to get the President since he took office. Democrats know that if they don’t impeach the President, he will be re-elected.”

Franklin Graham summed up Tuesday’s hearings in a couple of tweets. “It’s a day of shame for America. The media is calling the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry ‘historic;’ and it is – historically shameful. That our politicians would bring this kind of harm to our country with the world watching is unbelievable. 1/2”

Graham continued, “As Christians, as those who follow and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, let us pray throughout the day and all of these proceedings. Pray for our nation, pray for our leaders, and pray for @POTUS @realDonaldTrump. 2/2″
