President-elect Donald Trump reportedly has plans to issue as many as 100 executive orders on his first day in office, dealing with a wide range of topics including his signature issue of immigration.

According to Axios, the president-elect and his advisors detailed these plans during a meeting with Senate Republicans on Wednesday. Among those present at the meeting was Stephen Miller, who has been designated as the Chief of Staff for Policy in Trump’s second presidency, as well as the advisor for homeland security.

One of the planned executive actions is a reinstatement of Title 42, the immigration policy that was heavily utilized during the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic in order to significantly reduce both legal and illegal immigration amid health concerns. The policy expedited the process by which illegal aliens could be deported, and also gave broader authority for immigration officials to deny asylum requests.

Also on the immigration front, the Trump Administration plans to more effectively utilize a key part of the Immigration and Nationality Act that would allow state and local authorities to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in their duties of detaining and deporting illegals.

President-elect Trump also plans to use executive action to finish building his signature border wall, further restrict the asylum process, and construct more facilities for the purpose of detaining illegals before deportation.

Immigration has long been the main issue on which President-elect Trump campaigned. In 2024, he vowed to carry out the largest mass deportation operation in American history, in response to the record-breaking surges of illegals who came across the border during Biden’s presidency. He has also suggested taking steps to eliminate birthright citizenship, as well as further reduce legal immigration in order to prioritize the needs of American citizens.
