Commentary: Republican Governors’ ‘Tolerance’ Will Kill Us All

by Ned Ryun

We’re tolerating ourselves to death. There is no other way to say it, especially when it comes to immigration, specifically anchor babies, chain migration, and refugee resettlement. It’s as though our “leaders” have been fed stupid pills and chased them down with healthy quantities of idiocy.

Take, for example, anchor babies. I’m shorthanding it here a little, so bear with me, but it works a bit like this: let’s allow illegal noncitizens into our country—people who shouldn’t be here, have no right to be here—and let them have their babies on American soil. Voila! We now have new American citizens!

A few here, a few there, and suddenly you have an entire new generation of “American citizens” who were born on the taxpayers’ dime after their parents arrived illegally and. We’re not talking about thousands per year: last year alone, as far as we know, at least 376,000 anchor babies were born in the United States.

Throw into this mix “chain migration,” also known by the Orwellian term “family reunification.” Chain migration, which, like anchor babies, is also legal, allows a naturalized citizen to bring in an unlimited number of relatives into our country. Rasmussen recently found that five out of eight likely swing voters want the practice to end. Even a majority of black and Hispanic voters want to end chain migration.

Not so for Democrats running for president in 2020, or for the party as a whole. Why? It’s their holy grail. They know that 7-8 million immigrants will come in to this country via chain migration over the next 20 years. Statistics show that by a 2-to-1 margin those coming in via chain migration vote for Democrats because they want more government welfare programs.

And guess what? We’re paying for it all. You the taxpayer get to pay for your country to be transformed into something you probably won’t recognize in a generation or two.

Opposition to this madness has nothing to do with anyone’s skin color or race or ethnic background and everything to do with us importing people that have very little desire to become Americans and all that that entails. Instead, it appears they’re just coming for the economic opportunity and government handouts and anyone with common sense paying attention knows this.

Apparently America is now just the world’s ATM and social welfare program.

Now we are faced, once again, with the issue of refugee resettlement. President Trump is making all the right moves on the issue, slashing the numbers by 80 percent from the Obama years, even signing an executive order in September of last year that allows states and localities to reject refugee resettlement.

Yet in spite of Trump giving them an out, 18 Republican governors have consented to accept refugees, collapsing in the face of pressure campaigns from government-funded charities that are also refugee contractors.

Cloaking their financial interests in “Christianese,” these groups have mounted letter-writing campaigns from Christian pastors aimed at the governors to leverage them into accepting refugees.

An unspoken motivation for their “compassion” is that these groups receive $2,100, 45 percent of which they may keep, from the State Department for every refugee they resettle. We should be very clear: this is taxpayer money that these groups are using.

These Republican governors have obliged, claiming they are “following their hearts” and are trying to do the right, Christian thing. As an evangelical Christian, I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one. How is using money taken by force (also known as taxes) to fund the grift of refugee resettlement Christian charity? Theft? Yes. Fraudulent and immoral? Absolutely.

Taking taxpayer dollars to fund anything that has nothing to do with promoting and advancing the interests of the American people is fraudulent behavior. It’s a perverse incentive structure to use tax funds to incentivize behavior and results that have nothing to do with the best interests of the taxpayers bankrolling it. And yet here we are watching Republican governors accept refugees, many of whom, let’s face it, will end up on government welfare and vote for Democrats.

All of this madness is how red states become blue and America ceases to be America. We’ve already seen what happens to countries that encourage this behavior: much of Europe has actually ceased to be truly European and is now more Middle Eastern or Northern African with a European flavor.

This hollowing out of America isn’t happening merely by chance. It’s intentional, whether advanced by Democrats importing new voters for political power or Chamber of Commerce Republicans importing cheap labor. There’s a lot of money and a lot of power invested in not fixing our broken system. But all of this is a selling out of the American people.

Fixing this broken, immoral immigration system is one of the main reasons Donald Trump was elected. For the sake of the American people and the continuation of America as a truly unique, sovereign country, there really is no option for him but to succeed.
