Woke Media Ties Trump to Michigan School Shooter, Still Silent on Waukesha Motive

Far-left media outlets and commentators have tied the deadly shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan to former President Donald J. Trump, all while denying that the massacre in Waukesha, Wisconsin could have had political motivations.

“Comprehensive coverage of the Oxford High School shooting here, from the gunman’s chilling videos to his parents’ outspoken political views,” Daily Beast’s Rachel Olding bragged on Twitter.

The 15-year-old suspect, Ethan Crumbley, stands accused of killing four classmates and injuring several more with a handgun he stole from his father.

In her story, Olding notes that while Crumbly’s father was “not overtly political,” his mother was a Trump fan.

Here is a passage:

Jennifer [Crumbley’s mother], however, penned an open letter to President-elect Donald Trump, which she posted on her blog, in November 2016.

“Mr. Trump, I actually love that you are a bad public speaker because that showed sincerity, and humility,” she wrote. “You changed your mind, and you said ‘so what.’ You made the famous ‘grab them in the pussy’ comment, did it offend me? No. I say things all the time that people take the wrong way, do I mean them, not always. Do I agree that you should of [sic] shown your tax returns? No. I don’t care what you do or maybe don’t pay in taxes, I think those are personal and if the Gov’t can lock someone up over $10,000 of unpaid taxes and you slipped on by, then that shows the corruption.”

Former ESPN and MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann was also not shy about implying that Crumbley was somehow violent because his mother supported Trump.

This kid died to stop a school shooter whose mother echoed the Trumpist Fascism of [Barstool Sports Founder and President Dave Portnoy] and [Barstool Sports,” Olbermann said in a tweet, replying to a Barstool Sports blog post commending one of the slain Oxford High School students who is said to have rushed Crumbley in an attempt to disarm him.

The narrative that Crumbley was somehow motivated to violence by politics is a stark contrast to how media outlets, including The Daily Beast, portrayed Darrell Brooks, who killed six and injured more than 50 when he allegedly ran them over with an SUV less than two weeks ago.

Brooks was a known Black Lives Matter (BLM) supporter. BLM imagery and anti-white messaging littered his social media.

But The Daily Beast denied that Brooks’ political beliefs might have influenced his behavior. In fact, they blamed the political right for noticing the connection.

“How big-time right-wing trolls Andy Ngo and Tim Pool tied the Waukesha killings to Black Lives Matter,” a headline on that incident said.

Pool, it should be noted, describes himself as a “disaffected liberal.”

Daily Beast even lent sympathetic coverage to Brooks on Wednesday after the suspected killer said he felt like people were “demonizing” him.
